¡¡ Protest to Mark 2012 World Human Rights Day ¡¡ 3. 2, 2013 |

¡¡ On December 10th, 2012, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon marked annual Human Rights Day by declaring that everyone has the right to be heard and to shape the decisions that affect their lives and communities. ¡°International law is clear: No matter who you are, or where you live, your voice counts.¡±
Mr. Hada made his decision decades ago to voice the concerns of
Southern Mongolians under the Chinese constitution. As it was well
known, Mr. Hada was sentenced to 15 years for so-called charges of
¡°engaging in espionage and splitting the country¡± in 1995. Till this
day, two years after Mr. Hada finished his sentence, he is still
under the Chinese authorities detention. To make the situation
worse, his family has been constantly under the harassment from
Chinese authorities, illegal detention, house arrest, physical
attack, and personal threats. It once again proves that Chinese
authority does not honor its own constitution and judiciary system.
On behalf of Southern Mongolians, IMPP is demanding Chinese authorities to release Mr. Hada and leave his family alone! In order to show support to Mr. Hada and his family, Southern Mongolians, including members of IMPP, held a demonstration in front of the Chinese embassy in Washington D.C. on December 10th. This demonstration was also a response to the call of Secretary General Ban Ki-moon¡¯s statement of ¡°On this day, let us unite to defend your right to make it heard.¡± The demonstration started at 11am Eastern time. Participants held signs which read ¡°Release Hada Now!¡±, ¡°Release Hada Family¡±, and ¡°Free Inner Mongolia.¡± Slogans of demanding freedom were also shouted. ¡¡
